Free Women in Esports event at Bramall Lane

Sheffield United Community College is inviting girls and non-binary young people aged 16–21 to discover the exciting opportunities available within the rapidly growing world of esports at a free Women in Esports event this August.

Taking place at Bramall Lane on Friday 21st August from 10am until 4pm, the event is being delivered in partnership with British Esports and aims to inspire the next generation of players, creators and industry professionals by showcasing the wide range of careers available across the esports sector.

Attendees can look forward to an engaging day packed with inspirational guest speakers, interactive workshops, competitive gaming sessions and panel discussions featuring women working across the esports industry. The event will also provide opportunities to network with like-minded people, ask questions and gain valuable insight into what it takes to build a career in one of the UK’s fastest-growing industries.

Esports continues to grow both nationally and internationally, with increasing opportunities in areas including event management, broadcasting, content creation, coaching, marketing, production and competitive gaming. Through this event, Sheffield United Community College is committed to creating more inclusive pathways into the industry and encouraging greater diversity within esports.

The event also highlights Sheffield United Community College’s growing esports provision, which gives students the opportunity to develop industry-relevant skills, with a brand-new esports arena recently unveiled.
