Welcome Through Football

The programme aims to share best practices and deliver a football based social inclusion methodology directed at reaching and working with young refugees from the ages of 7 through to 25 years old. Alongside other European clubs, we deliver a football-based community programme with a focus on social inclusion, integration and acceptation of refugees in Sheffield.
Welcome Through Football – Is a 3 step process:
- Socialisation to sports – providing different football offerings for young refugees of both genders related to their specific requirements such as language skills or the possibility of trauma.
- Socialisation in sports – working on team structure, giving more responsibility to the participants and offering additional steps out with the sports training sessions.
- Socialisation through sports – Focusing on the skills the participants learn from taking part in the available offers so that they qualify for further education in and outside of sports.
Disability Programmes

We champion equality, diversity and inclusion across all our programmes and work to ensure young people with special education needs and disabilities have the opportunity to participate and progress in sport.
Blades Inspired
Blades Inspired has been created to provide more sport and physical activity opportunities for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across Sheffield. The primary focus is to inspire, educate and impact more children and young people with SEND through PE and Football sessions.
Our programme ensures that sessions are adapted and cater for the needs of each individual young person so they can fulfil their potential. Sessions are primarily delivered during school hours and our aim is to improve confidence, social skills and fundamental movement skills. It is hugely important that individual well-being is a priority.
