Youth Hubs Update!

Our Youth Hubs are continuing to grow and expand with many more opportunities on the horizon for our 18-24 year old customers. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately!

In March, we held our Jobs Fair in the Blades Family Hub. We hosted 14 employers and training providers for young people to engage with and understand the variety of opportunities available to them in and around Sheffield. With over 80 young people attending from local hubs and job centres, we had great feedback from both customers and employers!

Over the past three months, we’ve also had a variety of employers attend the hub to host mock interviews for our customers. A big thank you to QFM, staff from the Community Foundation, and Richard from Morrison Telecom Services.

Richard is pictured below with Isaac, a customer at who has made some brilliant progress during his time with us. These interviews are key to ensuring we give the young people who attend the hub the best chance of success when they receive offers for the real thing!

South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Hub also paid a visit to the Blades Family Hub at the beginning of this May. Keith and Vicki gave a presentation on how best to format applications and find an apprenticeship to suit your interests. Following the event, they also assisted two of our customers by securing an interview for one an assisting another with an application to Sheffield College. South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Hub provide a great service that will assist many of our young people.

Most recently, both the Sheffield United Youth Hub and the Sheffield Wednesday Youth Hub held a collaboration event, in partnership with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals at Hillsborough stadium. This event was centred around the NHS and the numerous opportunities available across the region. Touching on a range of apprenticeships and over 300 vacancies that are currently open within the NHS, the session opened the eyes of many young people who previously were unaware of the various roles that make up our crucial Health Care Service.

As we continue to grow and assist more young people from across Sheffield, we are excited for the events and opportunities we will be able to continue to deliver. A big thank you to all of the employers and training providers that have offered their time and services to our hub in order to deliver the best opportunities possible for our customers. We would also like to thank all our customers for their continued engagement and attendance which allows us to continue these brilliant events!
