Traineeship Update!

As our current cohort of trainees approach the end of programme, we’d like to give an update on what they’ve been up to this last 10 weeks!
Recently, our trainees have completed over 100 hours of their work experience placements, which has seen them work in several different sectors such as retail, sports coaching and graphic design. Alongside this they have completed employability skills lessons and all gained fit for purpose CV’s, cover letters and a First Aid Qualification.
Joe Simpson, Employability Officer, said “It’s great to see the trainees working really hard these last 12 weeks in many different sectors. They have all come on leaps and bounds! A big thank you especially to all their employers who have supported them with their journey in becoming more employable”
Without our partners we wouldn’t be able to offer our vital work experience opportunities to our trainees so we would like to give a big thank you to AB Graphics LTD, St Luke’s Hospice and the Sheffield United Football Club Shop for allowing our trainees to develop and gain valuable work experience.
See a couple of quotes from our partners below!
Angela, Manager @ St Luke’s Hospice Sheffield (Firth Park Shop) said: “I would like to thank Sheffield United Community Foundation for the brilliant work they are doing with young adults, and we’re delighted to be supporting them with the Traineeship Programme. Our trainee is one of the most dedicated volunteers here at our shop in Firth Park. She is very clever and reliable, and I am sure that her future will be bright.”
Liam Browes, Director @ AB Graphics said: “Our trainee has been a very polite, hardworking and an enthusiastic young man in his time with us at AB Graphics LTD. He has adapted well to working in a team as well as showing he can also perform work related tasks alone which is a big help to the business. We have expressed to our trainee that if he carries on with the attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn that there is a possibility of a job at the end of his Traineeship.”
