Trainees Find Career Pathways With the Foundation

Our last cohort of trainees completed their Traineeship Programme just before Christmas, and many of them have already seen the benefits of it.
Eight of our trainees have found progression routes into education or employment with the majority of them studying or coaching with us at the Foundation.
Of our nine trainees, three of them have gone onto join our NCFE Level 2 in Sports programme at Sheffield United Community College. One of them being Jayden, who said, “The Traineeship Programme helped me get back into a form of education that works for me, as well making learning and education more enjoyable. It also helped me build relationships with the other trainees on the programme.”
Four trainees have also gone onto join our Foundation Degree that focuses on developing football coaching skills.

Connor Murphy, Employability Assistant said, “On the Traineeship Programme we always want to see our trainees progress and succeed after being on the programme with us and having so many stay involved with the Foundation is something we try with every cohort. It’s been a pleasure seeing all the trainees begin their journeys with us.”
Liam, another trainee who has joined the Foundation as a casual Sports Coach, said of the programme, “I really enjoyed it as it gave me a chance to meet new people, build my relationships and social skills as well as gain vital experience in the sector I want to start my career in.”
Our programme gives 16-24 year-olds the opportunity to gain work experience, learn new skills and offer career pathways in their chosen industry. The 12-week programme is committed to making young people more employable, helping those with minimal experience and qualifications. Trainees will complete over 100 hours of work experience, undertake Functional Skills and participate in educational workshops.
If you or someone you know would benefit from joining our Traineeship Programme, our next cohort begins on Monday 6th February.
