Trainee of the year, Kasey Martin!

Congratulations to Trainee of the year, Kasey Martin! Kasey joined the Traineeship Programme with no qualifications but with a desire to pursue a career in sport.
When Kasey first joined the programme, she was low in confidence and self-belief. It has been fantastic to see how much Kasey has developed throughout the programme. Kasey has improved her confidence, overcome barriers, and improved her physical and mental wellbeing.
Even noted by Kasey’s Mum, her fun, outgoing and infectious personality has finally come back out.
As part of the traineeship, Kasey took part in a work placement, helping coach football sessions on the Women’s BTEC Sport Education Programme. It was from this that Kasey decided that she wanted to carry on her study with the Foundation.
Kasey has now completed her BTEC Level 2 and will be studying our BTEC Level 3 course this year.
Kasey said: “The Traineeship Programme was the perfect platform to help me get back into education after being out of it for so long.
“It helped me build positive relationships with the staff at SUCF and allowed me to make new friends. It has given me aspirations to pursue a career in sports coaching and I can’t wait to carry on studying with the Foundation.”
Well done, Kasey!
