Thank you to our Traineeship Partners

Sheffield United Community Foundation (SUCF) would like to thank all of our Traineeship partners that have continued to help support the programme over what has been a difficult year for us all.

Since September 2019 the Traineeship programme has engaged with over 40 young people, 90% of which have progressed into employment, further education or training following their graduation from the programme. Without our partners, the success of the programme simply wouldn’t have been possible.

Joe Simpson, SUCF Traineeship Officer, said: “The quality of our programme has developed leaps and bounds this past year and our partners have played a huge part in that.

“Often young people can get pushed aside when it comes to finding work experience.

“Our partners allow for young people to explore and find the industry they would like their careers in, which is priceless.

“The more businesses we can have partnerships with, the more young people we can help find routes back into employment education or training, which is key for the local community”

“I would like to personally thank Handsworth Junior Sporting Club, Yes 2 Ventures/Food Social and AB Graphics for offering work placements to our trainees, and taking the time to nurture and develop them into more employable young people.”

On being a part of the programme, Steve Holmes, Vice Chairman at Handsworth FC, said: “We have been delighted and proud to have the opportunity to work with SUCF and have the presence of some amazing trainees.

“The trainees have made a huge difference to our club with their hard work around the grounds and we have seen huge boosts in confidence of all the trainees who we have worked with.”

“It is a fantastic programme to be a part of.”

Another one of our partners, Yes2Ventures/Food Social’s Lee Vintin, said: “It is really positive for the charity to have great links with Sheffield United Community Foundation, it gives us a bigger platform to promote what we do.

“Having trainees from United in and around the place is a fantastic opportunity for them to develop their key skills within the industry. Top marks all round for me.”
