Thank You to Our Traineeship Partners

As we finish another academic year, we wanted to say thank you to all our Traineeship Partners who have supported our traineeship programme during this time.

90% of our trainees have progressed into employment, further education or training following their completion of the programme. Our partners have been vital to this success and the programme couldn’t run without them.

Joe Simpson, Employability Officer said: “The quality of our programme has developed leaps and bounds this past year and our partners have played a huge part in that. Our partners allow for young people to explore and find the industry they would like their careers in, which is priceless. The more businesses we can have partnerships with, the more young people we can help find routes back into employment, education or training, which is key for the local community.”

For our most recent cohort we would like to personally thank Handsworth Junior Sporting Club & St Luke’s Hospice for offering work placements to our trainees and taking time out to nurture and develop them into more employable young people. Thanks also go out to The Suit Works, AB Graphics Ltd, Yes2Ventures and Sheffield United Football Club.

We spoke to some of our partners about being involved on the Traineeship programme:

Steve Holmes, Vice Chairman, Handsworth Junior Sporting Club said: “We have been delighted and proud to have the opportunity to work with SUCF and have the presence of some amazing trainees. The trainees have made a huge difference to our club with their hard work around the grounds and we have seen huge boosts in confidence of all the trainees we have worked with. It is a fantastic programme to be a part of.”

Emily Cox, Donation Center Manager & Sarah Conrad, E-Trading Manager, St Luke’s Hospice said: “Working in partnership with the Foundation to deliver these Traineeships has been an absolute pleasure and we couldn’t be more grateful for the help and support they have given to St Luke’s over the last 12 weeks. We hope they have gained some useful workplace skills that they can carry forward and build on in whatever opportunity comes next. We wish them all success for the future!”

Jonny Tozer, City Road Shop Manager, St Luke’s Hospice said: “Josh has been a fantastic addition to the team at City Road, His confidence has grown exponentially and even after some speed bumps along the way he showed great resilience to bounce back.”
