Welcome to Sheffield United Community Foundation’s Summer Review!

Nature Based Blades: Creating a Sustainable Future
Take a look at how our new sustainability programme, Nature Based Blades, has been getting on at Bradfield School! Participants visited Bramall Lane for a tour of the ground and to learn about sustainability measures the club have put in place to help our environment. We chat with our Environmental & Sustainability Mentor, Flora Medford, and Bradfield School’s Brogan Lawton about how the programme has helped Jess, a student from the school, with her knowledge and attitudes to all things green!
We’ve been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Sheffield Business Awards!
⭐️ Collaboration Excellence Award (for our Youth Hubs, thanks to a great collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions).
⭐️ Community Impact Award (for our Fans Fighting Cancer programme, thanks to Weston Park Cancer Charity for their work alongside us).
⭐️ Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Champion (for our Empower LGBT+ programme that aims to increase LGBT+ participation in sport/physical activity, our thanks to Rainbow Blades for their support).
We’d also like to thank the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce for shortlisting us, we can’t wait for the big night!
Our Summer Football Camps are off to a flyer!
We’ve had a great first two weeks on our camps with faces old and new, and we’re not even halfway through yet! With three weeks of summer camps to go, we’ve got plenty on offer with our fun and engaging sessions at our five locations.
Click here to book your child’s place at Handsworth FC, Leisure United Graves, Leisure United Thorncliffe, Leisure United Westfield or Wisewood Sports Centre.
Please note there is limited availability at each site, so we encourage all to book ASAP to avoid disappointment.
We’d like to give thanks to all students, partners and staff for making Sheffield United Community College’s 2023-24 season one to remember!
The College has gone from strength to strength this past year, thanks to incredible partnerships both locally and nationally, a dedicated staff team and students going above and beyond!

Success for Jarred and the Youth Hub!
We received great news at our Youth Hub recently as Jarred, a Youth Hub customer since November, has gained employment with Marks and Spencer! Thanks to his work with The Prince’s Trust, Jarred took up the opportunity to complete a work experience placement with the retail giant.
Jared’s confidence has really blossomed during his time at the Youth Hub, and he has taken every opportunity given to upskill himself. It’s certainly paid off!
We are so pleased for Jarred as he takes this next step in his career, and we’d like to wish him all the best!
⚔️ We sat down with one of our students, Keyaan, to talk about his experiences on our BTEC Level 3 in Esports course at Sheffield United Community College. Read here.
⚔️ Congratulations to our very own Brad Fox, who has been recognised by Sheffield FA for his commitment to providing football opportunities for children with disabilities. Well done, Brad!
⚔️ We had the privilege of hosting the Premier League trophy during a recent Premier League Inspires tournament at Handsworth FC! Read more here.
We’d like to thank every participant who’s engaged with us this summer and thank the Sheffield United men’s and women’s teams for their ongoing support. Best of luck for the new season!
