SUCF announce extended partnership with The Sheffield College

Sheffield United Community Foundation (SUCF) is excited to announce an extended partnership with The Sheffield College to continue their Football Education Academy which provides students in the region with a variety of pathways to sporting success…
Sheffield United Community Foundation offers the opportunity for students to study towards a valuable, industry-specific qualification, whilst also developing their sporting talents and taking advantage of opportunities for progression within the professional sports sector.
Students who are with SUCF will study one of the sports courses on offer, which include qualifications from Level 1-3, and they will also learn, train, play and work within some of the best facilities in the region, both at the prestigious Sheffield United Academy and the iconic Bramall Lane Stadium.
Students can also undertake additional qualifications such as football coaching, physical education and sports leadership to boost their portfolios. Training on a daily basis, the students will be taught and coached by a range of award winning tutors and UEFA-B qualified Coaches, and will participate in local, regional and national leagues in football and futsal.
Chris Bailey, Foundation Manager at SUCF said: “The extension of the partnership with The Sheffield College is a fantastic step for the Community Foundation in supporting and developing the next generation’s sporting workforce, and it provides young people in the region with an alternative option to traditional routes of education after leaving school.
“Having worked with The Sheffield College for more than five years, the extension of the partnership is testament to the trustworthy relationship we have.”
Director of Health and Science at The Sheffield College, Iain McKinney added: “We are extremely proud to have extended the opportunity to allow sports-minded young people to not only increase their knowledge and skills for their future career, but to do it in a professional football environment with a variety of bespoke opportunities.”
