Shannon joins as Women & Girls Inclusion Coordinator

We are extremely excited that Shannon joins our team as Women & Girls Inclusion Coordinator. Providing opportunities for women and girls to participate and progress in sport and physical activity is a key priority area for us and we are excited about the programmes we are currently working on with key partners in the city. Lockdown as posed many difficulties for women, especially as gender stereotypes became more prevalent and our aim is to provide inclusive opportunities for women and girls to get active.

Katie Glossop, Participation & Inclusion Manager, is thrilled to have Shannon join our team and feels that it is a real step in the right direction.

Katie said: “It’s really exciting that we can move forward with our plans to support women and girls through sport.

“Shannon joins a fantastic team of passionate people who want to provide inclusive opportunities for everyone in Sheffield and establish a safer, stronger and more inclusive community. Welcome to the team Shannon!”

Shannon is equally excited and can’t wait to get started. Shannon said: “It’s great to be given the opportunity to engage with women and girls across all ages. I look forward to the future working with Sheffield United Community Foundation.”

Shannon will be tasked with setting up Premier League Kicks girls’ sports sessions and developing new opportunities for women and girls to be active.
