Rest in Peace, Maddy

Sheffield United Community Foundation are heartbroken and devastated to learn of the untimely passing of Maddy Cusack last week.
Maddy was a big part of the Foundation, joining in 2019 as Marketing and Communications Officer alongside playing for Sheffield United Women.
Katie Glossop, Senior Manager at the Foundation commented: “Maddy was a consummate professional at work, but more importantly, she was such a generous, warm, and friendly person. Many colleagues of the Foundation built lasting friendships with Maddy, keeping in contact inside and outside of work when she joined the club’s marketing team in 2021.
Her passion for bringing awareness to charitable campaigns always shone through in her tireless work. Maddy was one of the few people to continue working during the COVID-19 lockdowns in her role as Marketing and Communications Officer. Her drive ensured the Foundation was keeping in regular contact with isolated participants on our programmes, helping deliver care packages to many of our Fans Fighting Cancer group.
At our half-term camps, Maddy would often get involved in games with children, helping those who needed a little extra encouragement. Maddy was always willing to visit our sessions and help facilitate appearances from players of the men’s and women’s team. She took great pride in using her platform to inspire the next generation.
Maddy continued to contribute to the Foundation’s work whilst with the club, helping coordinate awareness campaigns and events within the Equality Working Group.
Maddy leaves behind a huge void that we will struggle to fill but we know the positive impact she has had on the lives of many within our community will live on.
Our thoughts are with Maddy’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
Rest in peace, Maddy.
