Primary Stars Do Good in the Community

As part of our Premier League Primary Stars programme, we recently redeveloped the sensory garden at Woodhouse West Primary School. Over the six weeks, school children and Foundation staff turned an area that was unused and dilapidated, into an area that can now be used for outdoor lessons and activities. The garden is now fully accessible for SENCO participants to have a safe space to get away from the stresses of the classroom.
Elliott Wilson, Primary Stars Coach, said: “It’s been fantastic to see the kids take the initiative and really get into this project. Over the six weeks we weeded the garden, relayed the path, painted the fence, planted flowers, built ornaments and birdhouses, and also created seating areas for the young people to use.”
“They’ve really come out of their shell and are now interacting with each other more outside of the project.”
Our Primary Stars have also been hard at work at Norfolk Community Primary School where school children raised money for a local charity. The children spent six weeks planning and organising a bake sale and coffee morning that saw our Fans Fighting Cancer participants come down to take part in the festivities also.
Rich Caley, Primary Stars Coach, said: “It’s been great to see a local school get involved with our project and create a positive environment for our Fans FC participants. The children worked really hard organising the event and their efforts were rewarded with the money raised for charity. We can’t wait for the next one!”
