Premier League Primary Stars Supports Local Schools

The Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars programme inspires Primary School children to become more active by providing quality support for schools in both the classroom and in PE. Since 2019, we have been able to support over 300 teachers in over 100 schools across Sheffield.

One school that has recently engaged with our Primary Stars programme is Greystones Primary School. Beth Stevenson, a Year 5 teacher at the school, has found the programme has had a big impact on her confidence:

“When we first engaged with Primary Stars, we’d just come out of lockdown. I hadn’t taught a PE lesson in over 18 months, so getting back into the flow of teaching PE was quite difficult for me. Working with coach Rich Caley from the Foundation has really built my confidence as Primary Stars has provided me with different skills, games and activities that I can teach with any sport. It’s been so useful.”

Beth adds: “For me, I think having experts come in and provide quality support, it gives the kids more belief in you as a teacher. They absolutely love it.”

The PL Primary Stars website provides free resources and tools for teachers to use in PE and in the classroom. The site also features a free newsletter for parents that includes fun activities and challenges to do at home.
