PLPS deliver Rainbow Laces Lesson

Sheffield United Community Foundation has been supporting Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign by delivering lessons on the impact of gender stereotyping to pupils through our Premier League Primary Stars programme.

Resources sent to us from the Premier League helped us to deliver a session to pupils at Rivelin Primary School.

“It was extremely refreshing and a really rewarding experience to deliver the Rainbow Laces workshop through Premier League Primary Stars” said Rob Jenkinson, Participation Officer.

“The children’s level of knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject really blew me away.”

“To anybody who thinks these topics aren’t suitable for primary aged pupil, I would whole heartedly disagree.”

A Year 4 pupil said: “It’s really important that people are treated the same. I am different to my friends and that is OK. Nobody should be picked on for being who they want to be.’
