Chris Bailey, Chief Executive Officer of Sheffield United Community Foundation said: “The Foundation continues to make a significant impact in communities across Sheffield, despite the challenges of an evolving economic landscape. Our unwavering commitment to community engagement, educational development, and social change has been driven by the strength of our partnerships, the collaborative efforts of stakeholders, and the dedication of our exceptional staff team.
Collaboration remains at the heart of our success. Our close relationship with Sheffield United Football Club continues to provide invaluable support, allowing us to expand our reach and deliver programmes that make a tangible difference in the lives of thousands. Beyond the club, we work closely with local authorities, businesses, and charitable organisations, ensuring that our initiatives remain sustainable and impactful. Through partnerships with Sport England, the Premier League Charitable Fund, the Department for Work and Pensions, and the European Football Development Network, we have been able to secure essential funding and resources, empowering us to implement and grow high-quality community programmes.
At the core of our achievements lies our dedicated staff team, whose passion and commitment enable us to deliver life-changing services. The Foundation employs a talented workforce that not only delivers outstanding programmes, but also continuously innovates to meet the evolving needs of our beneficiaries. This year, we maintained a strong workforce of 43 full-time equivalent staff, complemented by a network of casual and volunteer staff, ensuring flexibility in programme delivery. The dedication of our staff has been instrumental in expanding access to education, employability training, physical activity, and mental health support.
As we move forward, our focus remains on delivering high-quality, inclusive, and accessible programmes that empower individuals and strengthen communities. With the continued support of our partners, stakeholders, and staff, we are confident in our ability to expand our impact, enhance sustainability, and ensure that every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
This report highlights our journey over the past year and underscores the vital role that people, partnerships and places play in making Sheffield United Community Foundation a beacon of positive change as we tackle inequalities and provide opportunities for our vibrant city.”
