Mental Health SupSport

Sheffield United Community Foundation aims to use sport and physical exercise to strengthen self-esteem, develop personal skills, promote health and wellbeing and improve the physical, social and mental health of people in our community, whilst empowering people in the local area.

As a leading activity delivery facilitator in Sheffield, we deliver activities that can offer support for those in need of mental health support in the local community who may experience physical/mental/social deficit or isolation.

We are extremely excited to announce our brand new, upcoming programme ‘Mental Health SupSport’, an innovative service which will allow us to support individuals and organisations in delivering sport and physical activity to improve the Mental Health of all. The programme will include a wide range of sessions available, in association with many respected partners, including Sheffield Flourish, Brunsmeer Awareness, Door 43, Sheffield Mind, Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA and Strong Minds together, which will be accessible for all regardless of age.

Initially, the programme schedule will consist of a Men’s Mental Health football session, a Women’s Mental Health Football Session, and two Young people’s football/social sessions.
