Launch of Empower Women & Girls Activity Programme

Sheffield United Community Foundation are delighted to launch a programme of activities specifically for women and girls!
We have a variety of sessions including activities for mum’s, a session supporting women’s mental wellbeing to activities for young girls who are looking to get into football. There is something for everyone on most days of the week in the afternoon and evenings.
A full timetable can be found below. If you would like to attend any of the sessions which take place across Sheffield, please click here to sign up.
Session spotlight: Women’s Bootcamp (For women aged 16+)
We understand that for many people, particularly women, joining a gym or starting on your fitness journey can be daunting and overwhelming. That’s why we feel it’s important to offer women’s-only and friendly sessions to help overcome the barriers women face when it comes to participating in physical activity. So we’ve created Women’s Bootcamp, a fitness-based session for all abilities, led by a qualified female fitness instructor. There’s no judgement, no intimidating equipment or any pressure, just lots of fun to be had as we help to build your confidence and enable you to reach your fitness goals.
When: Every Friday, 5.00-6.00pm
Where: Forge Valley School, Wood Lane, S6 5HG
New Activities in September
From the beginning of September, we’re also adding four new midday sessions to our programme of activities. The sessions include more exercise and social events, and walks in the parks which are open to women of all ages and you are welcome to bring your children of any age.
Session spotlight: Women’s Walk in the Park
Over the past year, many of us have been cooped up in lockdown, separated from our loved ones and isolated from the wider community. To combat this, we’ve created our brand-new Women’s Walk in the Park initiative offering girls and women of all ages the chance to get some fresh air and have a natter with other like-minded people in our beautiful green spaces. Our first walk will be in the fabulous Graves Park!
Now restrictions have lifted, this is a great opportunity to meet your friends and family, others from within the community and our staff. From mums with young children to life-long friends, everyone is welcome, so bring your children, sisters, grandmothers and best friends.
When: Every Thursday (starting 9th September), 11.00am-12.00pm
Where: Graves Park, Hemsworth Road, S8 8LJ
