It’s #LesbianVisibilityWeek!

It’s #LesbianVisibilityWeek! Running from 26th April 2021 until 2nd May 2021 this week aims to recognise, highlight, celebrate and support LGBTQI women and non-binary people.

The week is used to help uplift women, especially those from marginalised backgrounds and wants to actively support lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer women across the UK and beyond to be their true and authentic selves within the workplace, home environments and socially.

At Sheffield United Community Foundation (SUCF), we are using this week to actively support all of our women in the workforce and highlight how we have made steps to become a more inclusive and supportive organisation for not only all genders to work, but also to be open and comfortable about their sexualities.

From the results from a recent staff survey, we have had a 5% increase in the number of women working for us and a 24% increase in the number of women who feel confident in speaking about their sexuality and identifying as Lesbian.

We are proud to have so many empowering and uplifting women working for us at SUCF. As an organisation we will continue striving to create the most inclusive, comfortable and safe environment that we can for our employees to work within.
