Interview Week at the Youth Hub!
Working in an award-winning collaboration with the Department for Work and Pensions, our Employability & Skills Advisors, Mike and Jessie, organised a week focused on interviews, which are a key component of the employability skills that the Youth Hub provides.
Group sessions provided an invaluable insight into how to succeed in interviews. Aspects like different types of interviews, body language, structuring answers and common questions were discussed in detail and experiences were shared.
After completing the session, attendees were offered the opportunity to participate in a mock interview and practice the skills they had learnt. During the week, the interviews took place in executive boxes at Bramall Lane and were conducted by inspirational staff from Aviva, Daisy Comms and Slambarz, with expert feedback provided to all participants.
Whilst several of the young people being interviewed described the experience as ‘nerve-wracking’ , the general consensus was that the experience was worthwhile. The interviewers were very positive about the candidates they spoke to, and individual feedback provided some clear aspects to work on in order to maximize the chances of success in the future.
We’d like to thank the staff from Aviva, Daisy Comms and Slambarz for their time and look forward to our next cohort!
