Ending Forever Isolation partnership with Cadbury, Aviva and Home Instead
Cadbury and Aviva Partnership
Sheffield United Community Foundation would like to thank Cadbury and Aviva for their contributions towards funding our upcoming Ending Forever Isolation project.
The project aims to support people aged 65 and over who have experienced loneliness and isolation, in which we aim to offer a safe space that allows the opportunity to meet new people, expand their support network, increase social skills and confidence, and most importantly have fun and enjoy themselves.
Home Instead Partnership
We are also excited to announce that Home Instead will be our delivery partner for the project. Home Instead is an award-winning community, home care provider, supporting vulnerable adults to remain living independently in their own homes.
Home Instead will support with the delivery and planning of the weekly session and use their expertise and outreach to identify those in the local community who would benefit from coming along.
Home Instead Sheffield & Barnsley’s Client Services Manager, Megan Stancill, said: “We are delighted to form this fantastic partnership with Sheffield United Community Foundation to work on such an invaluable community project.
“We Endeavor to promote awareness around social isolation and bring groups of people together to form new lasting relationships and experiences.”
Ending Forever Isolation Session
Sheffield United Community Foundation’s Health Coordinator, Josh Blunkett, said: “It has been an extremely tough 18 months for us all, which has really shone a light on how loneliness and periods of isolation can impact people.
“Due to this, a lot of people in our community have lost the confidence to do everyday tasks that we all enjoy.”
“Thanks to Cadbury and Aviva, we are able to launch Ending Forever Isolation to support those in the community that need it most.”
“We would also like to thank Home Instead, who we are pleased will be our delivery partner on the project, who will be providing a helping hand, friendly face, and invaluable expertise in supporting people locally.”

The project starts on Wednesday 11th August with our Choc ‘N’ Chatter sign-up event. This will take place from 1-3pm in the 1889 suite at Bramall Lane. The sign-up session gives those interested in joining the programme the chance to meet our friendly staff, enjoy a cup of tea, and get a taste for what future sessions will be like.
Cadbury has also kindly donated some chocolate for participants to enjoy on the day!
After this, sessions will run every Wednesday from 1-2.30pm from the Family Hub at Bramall Lane. Each week there will be different activities on offer such as film and book club, arts and crafts and chair-based exercise sessions.
