Foundation Scoops Community Partner Award

We were honoured to receive the Community Partner Award at the Sheffield Schools Get Active Awards!

Our Participation & Inclusion team has had a fantastic year collaborating with brilliant partners across the city, and it means a lot to be recognised by Sheffield’s school sport providers.

Rob Jenkinson, Participation & Inclusion Manager, shared: “What drives the Foundation is the belief that we can contribute meaningfully to Sheffield’s already well-connected school network. With strong partner support, we’re helping young people move more every day. That’s what keeps us going.”

A special thank you to the School Sport Providers for giving us the opportunity to be part of inspiring events like ‘Football Friday’ during Arches SSP Girls Week. Moments like these highlight the power of collaboration and the lasting impact we can make together.

This award is a reflection of the partnerships that make everything we do possible. We’re proud of the progress made and excited for what’s ahead as we continue promoting inclusive, active lives for young people across Sheffield.

Sheffield United Community College celebrated a record-breaking 2024–25! Strong academic success, student achievement, and strong work in our community all contributed to another fantastic year.

With 264 students across our Post-16 and Higher Education programmes, the college achieved a 94% retention rate and 98% course completion rate. 92% of learners rated their courses good or outstanding, and 95% would recommend the college. A strong 89% of Year 13 students progressed to Higher Education, including many into the college’s own Degree Pathway. Students also completed 95 additional qualifications in key areas such as fitness, mental health, and safeguarding.

Enrichment highlights included international trips to Malaga and Berlin, various domestic trips such as days out to Williams F1 and St. George’s Pack, and a residential in Edale. Students raised over £3,100 for the youth mental health charity Young Minds, and donated 243 gifts to Sheffield Children’s Hospital at Christmastime.

New pathways in Sports Business and Esports launched alongside 52 work placements and 28 employer partnerships. Esports flourished, and our College Blades brought home major titles in the NFYL Championship and NFYL League Cup, and retained the prestigious Varsity trophy over Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme.
