Women & Girls Sports Coach

Sheffield United Community Foundation are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate individual to lead on coaching sessions for both women’s and girls’ sports sessions. The role will include engaging with women and girls and planning suitable sports sessions every week. During this role you will be engaging with girls from 5 years old to women of all ages, so you will need to make sure you plan your sessions accordingly.

High Level Summary:

Term: Casual hours

Salary: £11 – £13 p/hour dependent on qualifications

Start Date: As soon as possible

About the role:

 The candidate will be passionate about addressing inequalities in sport for women and girls and have a strong desire to promote and champion equality and inclusion in sport and physical activity.

The role will require working in schools and during community time, which includes evenings and weekends, to provide project specific initiatives at a time and place which meet the needs of teenage girls, mums with young children and women working in primary education.

You will need to plan and deliver sports sessions to cater to all different abilities and will need to change your sessions quickly to suit the needs of our participants.

Applicants should have a good knowledge and understanding of youth engagement and knowledge and experience of the barrier’s women face to physical activity such as childcare. The candidate should also have experience of planning and delivering inclusive participation sessions for women and girls and a positive, can do attitude to creating change and supporting women and girls develop their skills and confidence.
